Day 01: Kolkata
Arrive Kolkata. Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 02: Kolkata
Morning sightseeing tour, including Victoria Memorial, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Indian Museum with one of the best collections of Indian art. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 03: To Darjeeling
Morning transfer to airport to board flight to Bagdogra. Upon arrival, drive to Darjeeling and check in at your hotel for 3 nights. A favourite hill station of the British, Darjeeling is surrounded by tea gardens and has magnificent views of the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain peak in the world.
Day 04: Darjeeling
Early morning drive up to Tiger Hill (9000 ft) to see the spectacular sunrise over Mt Everest and Kanchenjunga, visiting the Ghoom Monastery on our return. Later visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute & a local tea garden.
Day 05: Darjeeling
The day is at leisure with the option of a ride on the “toy” train to Ghoom or Kurseong.
Day 06: To Pelling A scenic drive to the remote hamlet of Pelling. Upon arrival check in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit the Pemayangtse Monastery.
Day 07: To Gangtok
Drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim and check into your hotel for 2 nights.
Day 08: Gangtok Morning visit the Rumtek Monastery, noted for its carved and painted woodwork. Later visit the Enchey Monastery and the Namgyalak Institute of Tibeto-logy (optional visit to Nathula Border).
Day 09: To Kalimpong
A pleasant drive brings you to Kalim-pong where you check into your hotel. The day is free to visit the orchid nurseries, churches and monasteries. Day 10: To Kolkata Transfer to Bagdogra airport for a short flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 11: Depart
Transfer to the airport for onward journey.
